Great room, great design

This house is, to say the least, striking in its layout. Large, open rooms like this are not common. The residents therefore chose an open-plan layout, which does not hide the open structure of the house, but rather enhances it. The white InBe bath fits in well with the room's colour tones, yet stands out with its rounded forms.

The Xo bath mixer adds a touch of playfulness to the room, with its asymmetrical shape and reflective surface.

A bit of colour

This space is clean and cool. Warm-coloured accessories are therefore a welcome change. The sawed-off tree trunk, that functions as a stool here, for example, is a lively addition to the the black, white and grey colour scheme of the room. The rough edges and weathered, natural appearance of the stool are a beautiful counterpart to the sleek concrete and steel elements in the room.

Traces of the factory

Where there used to be a large, wooden factory door, there are now a large glass window and door. Natural light illuminates this room for a large part of the day, and the French doors provide easy access from the bathroom to the garden.

From the outside, it is easy to see the contrast between outside and inside. Outside is natural, organic and warm, while inside is straight, cool and sleek. The residents have also incorporated this contrast into their interior design choices. Angular furniture alternates with round shapes and natural materials.

The back wall, for instance, is made of straight, vertically positioned wooden slats. The bathtub, in contrast to the natural wooden wall, has soft shapes made from a sleek, modern material. The design of the washbasin in turn, is rectilinear again.

Framing

In this large open space, sleek furniture is not out of place. The Frame open cabinet fits perfectly under the New Wash Me washbasin. The accompanying inlay shelf provides extra storage space, where the residents keep a few towels and toiletries. The extra horizontal rod of the open cabinet also functions as a towel holder.

Look up for a minute, and discover the large, eccentric ceiling lamp. This vintage lamp was created in the 1960s by German designer Rolf Krüger and consists of individual, tubular metal lamps on a square base. In this room, the residents chose to install 35 lamps in a square shape on the ceiling. Thanks to the different lengths of the cylinders, the whole looks dynamic.

The residents chose the black-framed glass partition wall made by Glas Italia. This wall can be extended to create more privacy in the bathroom. Thanks to the combination of the Look at Me mirror, Frame cabinet and sliding wall, black framing is reflected throughout the room.

Straight and round

The rimless InBe toilet goes well with the bathtub of the same series. The round and simple shapes work well together.
